Product Spotlight - Keep it Clean Pack
Changing our lives over to Plastic Free and Sustainable options does not mean that we miss out on quality products or have to reduce the quality of our lifestyle. More and more amazing products are available now that are helping us to move away from plastic use and make a valuable change to our planet.
I love these cloths. I think they are so cute. On the practical side, they are made from cotton and cellulose which means that instead of just being an item you will throw in the bin, when finished you can safely put them into your compost. If you don't have a compost area, they are also safe to put into worm farms.
In your home they are safe to use on all surfaces so you can use them in the kitchen, laundry or bathroom to clean surfaces, wipe up spills and are a great replacement for paper towels.
They are absorbent, machine washable and will last 6 months or more depending on how many cloths you have in rotation. I have found that they last at least 11 - 12 months and I have about 10 cloths that I rotate through.
EcoCoconut Dish Brush & Scourers
One major concern regarding pollution is microplastics and every time someone washes anything down the sink, out to the ocean it goes. As these brushes and scourers are made from a natural and sustainable fibre, this means no more releasing microplastics. You have to love that. Also too, this is another compostable item so less into landfill when your done.
The Brush is safe on all your cutlery, dishes, pots and even your glassware and non-stick cookware. They have designed it to be able to get into hard to reach places too, so there isn't anything left in the corners. They are also a perfect way for cleaning around your kitchen taps.
I really love the Scourers in the bathroom. The coconut fibre is naturally antibacterial and really cuts through soap scum and mould. It doesn't scratch the surfaces either like traditional scourers.
These are a durable and really multi-functional product. They are really long lasting but as yet, I can't give you an estimated lifespan as mine are still going. The ones I am currently using have lasted 8 months so far.
The Australian Natural Soap Company Dish & Laundry Soap
This is a product that I am relatively new to using. I initially tried it out to replace dishwashing liquid and the plastic bottles and liked it that much that I had to share it in this Pack.
For washing dishes you can either grate it directly into the water or apply directly to the dishes. Directions recommend 1 Tblspn but you can easily wash a sink full on 1 Tspn of grated soap. Unfortunately it isn't for use in a dishwasher, but at least there are earth friendly options available there.
You can also make your own Cleaning Gel. I haven't done so as yet, but would love to hear if anyone has.
I also now use this soap in my Laundry. There are no problems at all adding it to a Front Loader Washing Machine and easy for hand washing either grating it in water or rubbing directly onto your clothes. I love how fresh and clean it makes your towels feel..
It has a fresh scent of peppermint and lemongrass, made with 100% biodegradable ingredients and all the benefits of soap flakes in a block.
BioBag 30L Compostable Bin Liners
This is one of the first products I changed over to when looking for plastic free options for my home. BioBag are the original makers of 100% compostable bags so you can be sure you are getting a product that will do what it is meant to do.
30L Bags will fit into your average kitchen bin with a bit of a overhang so you can easily tie up the bag when full. They have a soft touch feel, which I guess isn't part of it's workability, but they do feel nice.
As you know, not all bags stay in landfill, and if they do end up in our environment or waterways, they will break down and not just turn into smaller pieces of plastic.
They come in a roll of 14 x 30L Bags, certified compostable, have no toxic residues and are palm oil free. They create less waste and are a sustainable alternative to plastic.
I would love to hear from you, especially if you already have this pack in your home. Also if you have any questions, please do no hesitate to ask.
